Idiot

As i walked back to my car today i saw the most amazing thing. Some teenager was trying his hardest to shake down a bus stop 'pole'. (NO, not trying to extort money with menaces!)
He'd gotten himself into a lovely rythym, much like a boxer on the speed ball. I was fascinated with his concentration and dedication to the task in hand. Even as i approached he took one look at me, realised he was about to ruin his timing, and turned back to his nemesis! NOT a care in the world.
Now, as a responsible adult what i should have done is tutted loudly and said something like,
"what the fuck are you doing you little bastard? Not only is what you're doing fucking irresponsible, it's also dangerous. Do you know what would happen if that snapped and the broken end flicked up! It would kill you! chop your head right off! You'd be dead, I'd have witnessed it and would have to explain to the police, your parents and friends just what an idiot you were being and how you caused your own death!!!!".
What i actually said was,
"I'll give you fifty quid if you snap that by the time i've fetched my car and driven back here".....................
As i drove back around the corner that pole was swinging and bending like one of Uri Gellers spoons!
Sadly he didn't manage it, he's still alive and kicking.
Who says todays youth are unmotivated!
